A further set of four finely detailed prints, present a Tawny Owl, Little Owl , Barn Owl and Long-eared Owl .

A recently published set of six small birds, which visit the Artists Cottage Garden, include a Bullfinch, Goldfinch, Robin, Wren, Blue Tit and Nuthatch. An earlier delicately painted set of Four Seasons show Whitethroats on Apple Blossom in Spring, Coal Tits on Honeysuckle in Summer, Goldcrests with Spiders Web in Autumn and Robins on Hawthorn in Winter.

From Ornithology to Entomology, a set of four British Butterflies on Wild Flowers will delight all nature lovers. Animal paintings feature both Otter and Fox with cubs, and Field Mice. The Badger, Fox, Red Deer and Pheasant , comprise a further beautiful set of subjects which abound near the Artists studio on Exmoor , Devon.

The iridescent Kingfisher is portrayed in breathtaking detail on a dead branch with lichen and moss, among reeds. The truly magnificent Green Woodpecker is depicted on an Oak stump searching for insects and his shy cousin, the Great Spotted Woodpecker on a dead branch entwined with ivy leaves.

A recent Landscape painting, in acrylic on canvas, depicting a scene on Exmoor, near County Gate. Farmyard scenes, with Cows, Sheep, Pigs, Ducks, Geese and Horses, complete a wonderful and varied selection of pictures which will make ideal gifts for young and old alike.

The Print Process

Since becoming his own publisher in 1984 David Andrews has been able to control the production and quality of his printed artwork, by personally selecting all materials used in their production and presentation.

The original artwork, painted in either gouache on paper, or acrylic medium on both paper and canvas, is first carefully scanned. From the scans, aluminium plates are produced and then fitted to an Offset Lithographic Printing Press. The prints are then produced in 4 CMYK colours ( Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) using Lightfast Inks on Chlorine Free / Acid Free Paper. All plates used to print Limited Edition Prints are then destroyed.

All prints are Double Mounted using ARQADIA Conservation and White Core Mount Board. The Top Mounts are Vellum coloured Conservation Board and the Inner Mounts are Terra Cotta, Mid Green and Silver Grey, White Core Boards. All Mountboards used are 1400 microns (1.4 millimeters) thick.

All ARQADIA Conservation Boards are Acid Free and fully comply to The FINE ART TRADE GUILD Conservation Level. All ARQADIA White Core Boards also meet FATG Standard Level. All finishes of Boards are made from chemically treated pulp using high pH sizing and are lignin-free.

The Core is created using High quality alpha cellulose. Lignin-free and Bright White throughout and is Buffered with calcium carbonate. The adhesive used on finishes of all Boards is Aqueous PVA with neutral pH. Also Buffered with calcium carbonate, and is plasticiser free.

The aperture of the outer/top mount is larger than that of the inner/under mount, thus exposing the inner mount's inside edge, inside the aperture of the outer/top mount. The bevelled inner edges of the Rectangular Mounts are cut at 52.5 degrees, and on Oval Mounts are cut at 45 degrees.

All Rectangular prints are signed by the Artist on the actual print. All Oval prints are signed by the Artist on the overmount.
