British Wild Life Artist
David Andrews has been a professional Wildlife Artist since 1965. During his distinguished career he has painted many varied subjects in oil, watercolour, acrylic and gouache.

He is best known for his paintings of British Birds and Mammals. Birds of Prey are his favourite subject. A set of four Hawks depict Sparrow Hawk, Kestrel, Merlin and Hobby, whilst three larger studies show a truly magnificent Buzzard, Peregrine Falcon and a Pair of Barn Owls. A further set of four finely detailed prints, present a Tawny Owl, Little Owl , Barn Owl and Long-eared Owl .

A recently published set of six small birds, which visit the Artists Cottage Garden, include a Bullfinch, Goldfinch, Robin, Wren, Blue Tit and Nuthatch. An earlier delicately painted set of Four Seasons show Whitethroats on Apple Blossom in Spring, Coal Tits on Honeysuckle in Summer, Goldcrests with Spiders Web in Autumn and Robins on Hawthorn in Winter.

From Ornithology to Entomology, a set of four British Butterflies on Wild Flowers will delight all nature lovers. Animal paintings feature both Otter and Fox with cubs, and Field Mice. The Badger, Fox, Red Deer and Pheasant , comprise a further beautiful set of subjects which abound near the Artists studio on Exmoor , Devon.

The iridescent Kingfisher is portrayed in breathtaking detail on a dead branch with lichen and moss, among reeds. The truly magnificent Green Woodpecker is depicted on an Oak stump searching for insects and his shy cousin, the Great Spotted Woodpecker on a dead branch entwined with ivy leaves.
